PROGRAMMABLE ENTELIZONE NETWORK SENSOR
eZNS, the enteliZONE Network Sensor, is a network sensor and thermostat designed for flexibility and customisation.
Its intuitive, customisable touchscreen interface and button layout can provide colour-coded alarm notifications and be tailored to improve the experience of individual occupants.
By combining integrated sensors with programmable functionality, eZNS helps maximise individual comfort while supporting effective space management.

CONFIGURATIONS AND FEATURES
Key features
- Multi-sensor design: reduces the need for multiple wiring runs by combining temperature, humidity, occupancy and CO₂ monitoring in a single device. It includes an external input for adding door/window contacts or connecting an additional temperature sensor.
- Extensive flexibility: colours, button layouts and programmable operations can be adapted to the needs of the building and its occupants.
- Advanced integrated options: optional motion, CO₂ and humidity sensors provide a comprehensive environmental-monitoring solution.

FAQ
When should eZNS be chosen instead of a traditional thermostat?
eZNS is suitable when the requirement goes beyond temperature control to collect environmental data and provide a local interface for intelligent zone management. Compared with a traditional thermostat, it combines programmable network-sensor functions, a customisable touch interface and the ability to detect parameters such as temperature, humidity, CO₂ and occupancy, depending on the selected configuration. It is therefore more suitable for buildings with Building Automation systems such as hospitals or offices, where comfort, energy efficiency and environmental monitoring need to be managed in a coordinated way.
What is the difference between eZNS and eZNT?
eZNS and eZNT are very similar in appearance but perform different roles within the control architecture.
- eZNS is a programmable network sensor designed as an extension of an application controller: it collects environmental data and provides a local user interface. It does not have direct physical control channels such as relays or analogue outputs.
- eZNT, by contrast, is a fully programmable network thermostat with integrated I/O, capable of running independent control logic and directly managing zone devices and applications.
Which sensors should be considered in an eZNS project?
The configuration depends on the project objectives, for example the energy-efficiency and comfort targets defined in the building-management plan:
- Temperature: the temperature sensor is the basis for comfort control.
- Humidity: useful in environments where perceived wellbeing or air quality is a priority.
- CO₂ sensor: recommended where ventilation and air changes need to be optimised.
- Motion sensor: useful for strategies based on actual space occupancy.
eZNS can also provide an external input for connecting, for example, door/window contacts, additional temperature sensors or other local signals.
In which environments is eZNS most suitable for installation?
eZNS is ideally suited to offices, meeting rooms, hotels, schools, healthcare facilities, commercial environments and, more generally, any area where the environmental conditions of an individual zone need to be monitored. It is particularly useful where occupants need to interact easily with the system, for example to adjust the setpoint or receive visual feedback through the display and RGB backlighting. Because the graphical interface, button layout and overlays can be customised, eZNS can be integrated harmoniously with architectural finishes, interior décor and the company’s visual identity.
Does eZNS support occupancy detection for energy optimisation?
Yes. eZNS can integrate an optional PIR occupancy sensor to detect presence in the space and support more efficient control strategies. When paired with an application controller, occupancy detection can help adjust ventilation, setpoints, comfort and operating modes according to actual space use, reducing waste without compromising occupant wellbeing.
How does eZNS integrate into an existing Building Automation network?
eZNS integrates into the Building Automation network through RS-485 Delta LINKnet communication and is designed to work with application controllers supplied by Data Controls. It can be used as an advanced zone sensor, collecting local data and making it available to the system’s control logic. NFC configuration and support for enteliWEB integration, where provided by the infrastructure, simplify commissioning, management and supervision of the device within the existing system.
